Isaiah 54:17 (NIV)
17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord.
A Christian’s life is a difficult one. Jesus did say that His disciples would have to carry their own cross. He wasn’t referring to a small, light object that is on a piece of clothing or on a chain around the neck. Crosses were large and and very heavy. It took quite an effort to carry them. Today, as Jesus’ disciples, His servants, some of the spiritual weight we have to bear is from attacks against us, whether from flesh or spirit. What this means is that we will have to endure a certain amount of suffering and loss. Be encouraged, our Lord is faithful and true to us. He always keeps His word. In His timing, these attacks will come to an end. As the above scripture says, we will receive our heritage of deliverance and vindication as promised.
