10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
It would be hard enough if our struggle was just against humans(flesh and blood), with their human limitations. But it’s against satan and the demons, who can’t be seen by us and have the ability not only to deceive and distract Christians, but to use other humans as their tools or weapons against us.
The good news for us is that God has not left us to face them alone. As we shall see in the next post, He is ready to use his mighty power, if we are willing, to train us, equip us, guide us and sustain us to withstand any and all of satan’s attacks. Please think about and pray about the last part of verse 13. It is God’s will that we will be able to resist satan and have him flee from us. It is God’s will that we are the ones left standing, holding onto what He has given us, salvation, being like our model Jesus, doing whatever part of the Father’s work that has been given to us, and being with God forever.
In His love and service,
