Being anointed and ordained by God can be tough, but He makes a way

Spiritual family, how much do you respect one another because of the office God has ordained you with? It’s not really about you respecting the office, it’s about you respecting God. Unfortunately, there are those out there who are filled with spiritual pride and think they understand God and His word, but they don’t. They actually rely upon their own understanding and stubbornly continue on their path even when shown they are wrong from scripture itself.

I run across this issue from time to time and get weary of these attitudes and insistence that women are not supposed to be spiritual leaders. If that is so, why did God ordain female spiritual leaders throughout the old and new testaments? If so, why didn’t the Apostle Paul write in 1 Corinthians 12 that God the Holy Spirit only ordains men when, in truth, there is no gender mentioned as to spiritual gifts and anointings? Why is it that people attempt to make scripture prove their point instead of letting God’s word speak for itself?

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 is often quoted as these people’s proof scriptures. They are taken out of context. When read in context we can see that Paul addresses a congregation where some women were being disruptive and says that these women are not fit to preach and teach. This does not apply to all women everywhere, or else we can say that God is not the same today, yesterday and forever.

Brothers and sisters, I follow Jesus and have taken up my cross. This is part of it. Jesus was mocked, scorned and ridiculed, and, though it’s unpleasant, so am I. Interestingly enough, He was ridiculed for who He is and was. Ditto. And yet, He was about His Father’s business. So am I.

Be safe and be blessed.

Pray with me, please.  Father God, help us to grasp how You set things up so that we don’t rely on our own understanding, but we rely on You and Your precious word as truth.  Grant us the spiritual eyes to see as You do.  The prophet Samuel was sent to Jesse’s home to anoint Israel’s future king.  At first David wasn’t even present.  It was only after Samuel perused all of David’s brothers that David was sent for.  But David was the one You anointed and ordained to lead Your people.  Many of us who have been anointed and ordained by You had no prior knowledge or even training for what You tasked us to be and do .  And yet, here we are.  We did not ask for positions of spiritual authority, and yet that’s what we have.  Please help us all to see as You see in the spiritual.  You know why You do what you do.  Help us to give love and respect to those You have Your hand upon because we know that disrespecting them is disrespecting You.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

Spiritual vanity hampers those afflicted by it. May all read and heed.
