As long as you choose to do and be what God has for you to do and be, you are never alone or unsupported. Jesus is there. The Holy Spirit is there. The Father is there.
God’s plan was to help the first disciples learn about Jesus. They had a Jewish background, and Jesus had to teach them there was more to God than the Father, that He (Christ) is God and the Holy Spirit is God. Once Jesus’ supportive and instructive task was finished, He sent the Holy Spirit to teach the disciples more about the Trinity and what the followers were to do and be. The Holy Spirit guides us into truth, and that includes learning about the kingdom of light and a little about how it works. What a wonderful benefit and blessing to us all that we can grow in grace and knowledge of the spiritual kind.
Scripture: John 16:26
But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the father, He will testify of Me.
Father God, thanks for equipping me to be and do all that You have for me to be and do. Thanks for being there to light my path and guide my way as You work out Your plan for my life of service to You and those You place across my path. May I ever learn to be more like You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and may I learn to transcend my flesh for the true life: the eternal life in the Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Things to Think, Pray and Journal about
1. Have you been taught about the roles of the Spirit, what He is being and doing in our lives in functions or tasks like teacher, supporter and empowerer?
2. Have you been led by the Holy Spirit to do something that didn’t make sense to you? What did you do?
3. When studying God’s word, do you ask for spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear what is being taught and how it applied to those who lived so long ago and how it applies to you today?
4. Do you feel the Spirit’s presence in your life? Do you love Him like you love Jesus?
