Isn’t it great that Jesus gives His followers the peace of mind that what we need will be provided for as long as we focus on being and doing what God has for us to be and do? This way, we can choose not to worry about shelter, food or clothing and whatever else is necessary for us. Humanly, it’s hard to get rid of the “worry gene” even though we choose not to have it present in our lives. Jesus stands ready to help you do what you cannot do for yourself. When you begin to worry and truly don’t want to, call out, think or pray out, “Jesus, help!” And He will at just the right time for you!
Encouraging Scripture: Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Father God, thanks for calling me as a believer and for guiding me on Your discipleship path. Help me to understand Your promises to me as a faithful disciple. Thanks for being faithful to Your promises to me and helping me to continue on this path to spiritual maturity and true service to You and Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Things to Think, Pray and Journal About
1. Is there something that’s worrying you that interferes with your ability to fully be and do what God has for you to be and do? What is it? have you thanked God for His promise to provide for your needs and have you asked Him to help your unbelief like the desperate father in Mark 9:23-25?
2. Stress and worry deplete physical energy and send bad chemicals into the body. Have you asked God to remove those unhealthy cells and replace them with healthy ones while you choose to do your part and let God handle His?
3. Have you asked God to help you embrace Philippians 4:8 no matter what’s going on in your life? Have you thanked God for what you have and thanked Him for providing what you need even if you don’t have it yet?
