May God grant you the peace that comes from embracing the wonderful, encouraging words in Psalm 9:9-10! We know you seek Jesus daily and perhaps many times during the day. May you feel His embracing presence in your life as you do and be what He has for you to do and be where you are right now.
You may be worried that God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit won’t have a relationship with you because of what you did. Did you know that the “Son of Sam” serial killer David Berkowitz now has a relationship with God? He has been serving a life sentence, but he is emotionally and spiritually free because God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are in his life. What God did for David Berkowitz, He can and will do for you.
Encouraging Scripture: Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You
Father God, Jesus turned to You in His times of greatest need, and I follow His example. Please help me to accept Your will, plan and purpose for my life even if it means physical death to do so like Jesus experienced. I have a new life in You, and I ask You to send others across my path that I can share the love and wonder of being Yours. Grant me courage, wisdom, and all that I need to do and be what You have for me to do and be in this place. I know that I am free in Jesus even though my body is behind bars. Grant me Your joy and Your peace and, most of all, Your love so that I can be an example for others just like Jesus is my example. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Things to Think, Pray and Journal About
1. How does knowing God loves you and is here for you change how you feel about Him and yourself?
2. How does knowing God has a plan and purpose for your life where you are make you feel?
3. Have you shared your struggles with God and know that He has heard you?
4. How can you be an instrument of God’s love and encouragement to those around you? Has God shown you what He wants you to do and how He wants you to do it? If not, ask Him.
