When life is hard, it’s so easy to forget that nothing separates us from God and all that He is in love and power. The Apostle Paul shares from sorry personal experience, and he endured hardship because of truly knowing and embracing God’s love and presence and support in his life. We pray your life will not be as hard as his, but we know that whatever you need to endure and persevere in for God’s sake, for His kingdom and righteousness, He will encourage and equip you as well as comfort and encourage you like He did the Apostle Paul.
Being more than a conqueror means you are not alone in your efforts to be and do what God has for you to be and do. God is right by your side in every way and with all power, the greatest of which is love.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, persecution or famine, or nakedness, peril or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter’. Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Father God, Jesus promised never to leave or forsake me, and that means in good times and bad. Help me to feel Your presence, love and support always as I strive to be and do what You place before me regardless of circumstances and obstacles. I know You don’t give a plan without the tools and power to back it up, so help me not to panic and remember that. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Things to Think, Pray and Journal About
1. Have you ever gone through a hard time and cried out to God for help? What happened?
2. Stress from hard times can sap your emotional, physical and spiritual energy. Can God’s love and a connection to Him help?
3. Why is love so powerful? How can you be filled with it?
