Being overwhelmed is tough, but God makes a way, #2

How great is our God who helps us do what we cannot do ourselves!  How great is our God who will not give us things to do and be without empowering us and guiding our path!  How great is our God who, when we are not able, He is!

There is nothing too great for God to handle.  God doesn’t expect you to do the impossible, He just empowers you to move forward in spite of seemingly impossible obstacles!  Just like the Father was always with jesus, God and all that he is supports and encourages and, yes, empowers you to do and be what He has for you to do and be.

God understands what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and emotionally paralyzed.  That’s what Jesus experienced when He walked among us.  He realized the need to stop and connect with the Father, who then strengthened Him just like you can be strengthened.  Like Jesus, God is pleased that you understand your feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and even burn out.  Like Jesus, help is always available so you don’t have to stay overwhelmed and you can, Like Jesus, choose to move forward on the path before you.

Encouraging Scripture: Psalm 142a

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then You knew my path.

Let’s Pray

Father God, grant me the ability to choose what’s important to focus on in order of importance.  Help me to plan my tasks so that they don’t deplete or overwhelm me.  Mostly, help me to live the serenity pray and grant me the wisdom and discernment I need to emotionally break free from these stressful times so I can move forward with my life and the things You have for me to do and be.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

Things to Think, Pray and Journal About

1.  Do you see how stopping what you’re doing and taking care of your needs is part of living God’s law of love?

2.  Can you see that you might be trying to do too much at once and that you need to divide your tasks into manageable chunks?

3.  Have you already asked God to deliver you from your problems and are mad because He hasn’t yet?  Can you tell Him about your anger and frustration completely?

4.  Did you know that it’s okay to be angry with God and tell Him?  Did you know He is here for you in spite of your anger?
